MMs Laura Beenham honored with BESE Dean’s Award to attend ICRS 2026

27 January, 2026

The BESE Dean’s Award, presented by the Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering Division at KAUST, recognizes students who demonstrate not only academic excellence but also high-impact research that aligns with global conservation goals, and our PhD student, Laura, won one of the four available awards and will present her work at the ICRS 2026 in New Zealand.

Student quote
“Receiving the Dean’s Travel Award is such an honour. It gives me the opportunity to present my research on a newly described coral pathogen at an international conference in New Zealand, helping to support restoration efforts by improving our ability to combat coral disease.”
