Professor Raquel Peixoto, has been officially recognized as one of the “50 people changing the world” by the prestigious Explorers Club.

This honor, announced as part of the Explorers Club 50 (EC50) Class of 2026, celebrates extraordinary individuals whose work is advancing science and exploration to solve the world's most pressing challenges and to protect the ecosystems that are disappearing.

As such, Prof Peixoto’s work serves as a global blueprint for how scientific discovery can directly intervene in the climate crisis, which in this specific case is related to Microbiome Stewardship and coral probiotics.
