The article highlights the promising field of coral probiotics, where our scientists are using beneficial bacteria to help protect coral reefs. The Marine Microbiomes Lab work, to isolate microbes directly from healthy coral colonies, screening them for specific traits that enhance a coral's resilience, such as neutralizing stressors, fighting pathogens, and supporting metabolism.  Marco Casartelli, our PhD student, explains it further in this news piece.
