Empowering the next generation of ocean advocates, KAUST partnered with OceanX and Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean (POGO) to support the first cohort of Early Career Explorers aboard the Around Africa Expedition with OceanQuest, endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade. Two of the Marine Microbiomes Lab Ph.D. students Ali Alabyadh and Ahmed Alsaggaf, were part of this first cohort, representing Saudi Arabia.
