This article focuses on the establishment of the Coral Probiotics Village (CPV), an innovative underwater research laboratory in the Red Sea developed by scientists at KAUST to bridge the gap between lab and field studies for coral reef restoration.
The CPV is a crucial platform for testing interventions like coral probiotics, and initial field trials at the CPV have shown promising results, safely demonstrating that these microbial treatments can be incorporated by corals to improve their health and resilience.
