Prof Raquel Peixoto, took center stage at COP29, delivering two impactful talks that highlighted the critical role of youth leadership and innovative solutions in safeguarding our oceans.

In her first presentation, "Youth Leadership and Expert Perspectives on the Future of Coral Reefs," held at the Blue Zone, Prof Peixoto emphasized the urgent need for young voices to be heard in addressing the challenges facing coral reefs. She underscored the importance of intergenerational collaboration and knowledge sharing between experienced scientists and emerging leaders.

Her second talk, "Ocean Optimism in Action: Success Stories and Strategies for Marine Conservation," showcased inspiring examples of successful marine conservation initiatives. She also highlighted the power of community-based approaches, technological advancements, and policy interventions in restoring and protecting marine ecosystems.
