Hosted by Prof Raquel Peixoto, Prof. Rodrigo Costa from the Microecology and Evolutionary Biology Laboratory, Instituto Tecnico, Lisboa, gave a seminar titled: Harnessing the Metabolism of Marine Symbioses, and delved into the fascinating world of symbiotic relationships between marine organisms and their potential applications.
Prof. Costa's presentation offered a comprehensive overview of the intricate metabolic interactions that occur between marine symbionts and highlighted the diverse range of benefits that these symbiotic relationships can provide.
Prof. Costa explained how understanding the metabolic pathways of symbionts could lead to innovative strategies in the most diverse fields and as the field of marine symbiosis continues to advance, the findings presented by Prof. Costa offer promising avenues for developing sustainable solutions to pressing environmental challenges.
