KAUST Professors Discuss Climate Challenges of the Future in Saudi Arabia

During the recent Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Climate Week, KAUST professors, including Professor Raquel Peixoto, joined experts from KAPSARC and Aeon Collective to discuss recent developments in mapping out future scenarios for Saudi Arabia, highlighting the importance of taking action now to avoid the climate challenges of the future.

Professor Peixoto, along with Prof Carlos Duarte, represented the areas of marine ecosystems in Chapter 4 of the Climate Futures Report: Saudi Arabia in a 3-degrees warmer world (2023), which was co-authored by KAUST, AEON Collective, and KAPSARC.

The Climate Futures Report is a valuable contribution to the ongoing discussion about climate change in Saudi Arabia and ultimately worldwide as it provides a clear and concise overview of the risks and challenges, and it outlines a number of actions that can be taken to mitigate these impacts.
